Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FZ28 Camera

Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ28 Camera

Here comes the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 camera. Dimensions 118 x 75 x 89mm and with a weight of 417-grams, the FZ28 is amongst the smaller superzooms. It’s body made of powder and smooth finish tough black plastic that feels good to the touch. Its textured rubber handgrip is well contoured with an indented groove for your middle finger that lets your hand rest perfectly while your index finger’s independent to hover around the shutter release and zoom toggle.

The top of the camera contains the Shutter release zoom toggle, auto focus toggle and macro mode buttons placed along side a mode dial. The back of the camera has the flash button on the extreme left, and the EVF toggle, AF lock, Q. Menu, display, delete buttons, alongside a navigation D-pad and a standard 2.7-inch screen that features 230,000 pixels. While the FZ28 might seem cluttered up with buttons once you use it you realize how easy it is to access most of the camera’s functions through the shortcut buttons rather than navigating through the menu.

The camera’s designed for those who want control at their fingertips and that’s evident in its build.

USB Drive Filled with Beer

Beer Filled Usb Drive

A product of CNK Promotions, this unique pendrive is certainly something I would like to pocket. I swear it would not surprise me in the least to see a news bulletin somewhere where a guy decided to try to suck the beer out of his USB drive. It’d likely start with one guy either daring or offering up some small fund to do it like a dollar. It really wouldn’t take much for someone to do it. Well luckily there are no links to actually purchase this USB drive instead it is just an example of all the cool things a certain company can do with USB drives.

The company can not only fill your USB drive with liquid but add little objects to the mix. Like a car for a racing company. Basically those cheesy pens that the top of them was filled with liquid have now been replaced with these USB drives. Well I suppose it had to happen eventually. If you feel the need to create liquid filled USB drives with your company name stamped on them just follow the link to find out more info.

Relation between Cell Phone and Brain Tumor – Latest Study

A new bit of data has emerged about the idea of cell phones and the brain tumors.

Seems that Environmental Working Group released data just recently that detailed just how much radiation you’re sucking up when you’re on the phone actually and then Los Angeles Times followed that with a strange study. Check this out:

when the data from 23 studies was pooled together, there was no conclusive link between brain tumors and cell phone usages. This by itself would be interesting if not necessarily newsworthy, but when the Times jiggered the evidence a bit, comparing data from the “eight strongest studies”, they found out that cell phone users had between a 10 to 30 percent higher chance of getting brain tumors, with the more time spent on the phone being higher risk than those who spent less.

And then, here’s the weirdest point: seven out of eight of those “strongest studies” were all conducted by the SAME GUY IN SWEDEN.

Lenovo X100E Laptop – Super Cheap, Sweet & Small

Lenovo X100E - Small, Cheap & Sweet Laptop

Lenovo’s new X100E ultrathin laptop is just out in the market and it’s looking pretty sweet. An 11.6-inch screen, redesigned chiclet keyboard, a supposed starting price of less than $500 and colors ((Looks like red, white and black are the extent of the palette).

The X100E looks to be a substantial physical redesign from Lenovo. The new chiclet (or “island”) keyboard looks great, much less busy than previous ThinkPad layouts, and the overall design seems to have calmed down significantly.

It should be packing a low-power AMD Athon “Neo” processor, 4GB of memory, up to 500GB of hard drive storage, and boast a 5.1-hour battery life while weighing less than 3 pounds but the most enticing part has to be the price: Previous ThinkPads have been extremely pricey, often even more than equivalent Macs, yet the X100E is rumored to come in at $500 to start. No information on release date, but we’ll keep you updated.

Now Use Google Voice Without a New Number

The sticky point with the highly convenient Google Voice service has been that you had to choose a new number to use with Google Voice service. If you had an existing number that everyone already knew and wanted to switch over, you were pretty much out of luck.

But luckily that changes today, with Google announcement that you can now use Google Voice with an existing phone number. Also, you can now add Google voicemail service to any of the mobile numbers linked to your account. Think of it a bit like Gmail for voicemail.

Now when you first sign up for Google Voice you can choose between using your own number or choosing a new Google number. You still get many of Google Voice’s features when using your own number, including the Google voicemail feature you can now add to linked phones.

Anonymous browsing with Firefox: Stealther Firefox extension

Now why would you want to surf anonymously? What with the CIA and NSA poking into your phone calls and emails looking for evidence of the terrorist that you are, you think a little bit of anonymity will help you stay out of prison for long? Well, okay, whatever. If anonymous browsing is your thing, and you have already dumped Microsoft Internet Explorer and embraced Firefox, this is probably what you were looking for.

Once you download and install the little Stealther anonymous browsing extension in your Firefox, this is what you get:

Browsing history - poof. Cookies - Poof. Downloaded files history - Poof. You know how Firefox keeps a list of all your previous incriminating downloads in its download history, right? Stealther takes care of that. Saved forms information can be wiped out, and your Firefox will not send any more referral information once Stealther starts protecting your notoriety.

Just remember - your kids will know how to disable this, hack it, and thus discover all your sordid secrets - a fate worse than the CIA discovering your secret fantasies. So, if you don't have kids, and you are paranoid about the spy agencies, the Firefox Stealther extension is there to protect and keep your evil doings anonymous.

Symantec antivirus software has a flaw

Symantec antivirus software is now at the receiving end. A serious flaw has been found in the company's antivirus software, which allows hackers to access a PC without the user having to open anything. The flaw was first discovered by eEye Digital security, which categorized it as a high level threat.

In a statement, eEye said, "This flaw does not require any end-user interaction for exploitation and can compromise affected systems, allowing for the execution of malicious code with system-level access."

Computer security analysts are saying that this flaw in Symantec's antivirus solutions can be of serious concern. Says Donal Casey, security consultant at Morse," The fact that it allows hackers to remotely take control of a PC without the user opening any attachments or clicking on anything makes this a huge vulnerability."

The Symantec products which are prone to this flaw are Symantec Antivirus 10.x and Symantec Client Security 3.x, said eEye. But Symantec has described the flaw as unverified" and the impact as "undetermined".

Symantec said in a statement, "Norton products do not contain the code affected by this potential vulnerability, and none of the Norton products are affected by this issue".

Symantec said that its teams are in place to investigate the report and that it would provide updates for its products if necessary.
