Nike+ iPod sports kit goes on sale

Sales of the Nike+ iPod sports kit start today, Nike Air Zoom Moire+ and the Nike Air Zoom Plus+ by July end.

Nike and Apple has officially announced the launch of Nike+ iPod sport kit from today. This brings together the world of music and sport for the high-end fans. The sports kit marks the first product developed jointly by the companies.

The Nike+ iPod sports kit allows the user to communicate between the iPod Nano and the Nike+ footwear using a sensor fitted in the Nike+ footwear. A receiver is attached with the iPod Nano to receive the data sent from the Nike+ footwear.

Using the Nike+ iPod sports kit, will user will get to know the distance he has run, the amount of calories burnt and the data about speed. The user will receive audible updates about all these data throughout his run.

By the end of July, Nike is also expected to sell Nike Air Zoom Moire+ and the Nike Air Zoom Plus+. These will be the first of the six models compatible with the Nike+ iPod sports kit.

The Nike+ iPod sports kit is priced at $29 for retail. All Nike+ enabled footwear will cost $80-$100 for retail.
